Our Story
It all started with 100 questions that lead to 1 very important question.
In the many years living in Orlando, not once did they cross paths once. With the help of the dating app Bumble was how they crossed paths. With Covid-19 rumors hanging in the air, both Andy and Kristen still took their chances. Not long did it take Andy asking Kristen out for lunch a week after matching on Bumble. Intrigued, she obliged to the request since it was uncommon to be meeting up after a short amount of time. Since it was in December when they first met, the small ember didn’t feel like it was going to last long. The texts stopped coming through and not a lot of activity was happening between the two. A month later, Kristen had come back from her trip in NYC where she brought back a cookie from a famous NYC based bakery. She thought about Andy and texted him if he was interested in meeting up again. Andy, to his surprise, agreed to meet up. Although it was a short date, Andy was touched by the simple gesture. His feelings for Kristen were growing by each meeting. Not only was she beautiful, she was kind and thoughtful. It wasn’t until three dates in which Kristen decided to test Andy’s intentions. It was both agreed that both parties were interested in each other but wanted to continue the growth of friendship before continuing a more romantic relationship. How did the two kindle their friendship into something more..

When I came across Andy’s profile on Bumble, I remember thinking “Oh, there aren’t very many Asian men on here. Why not?” So I swiped right on him, not knowing if I would ever hear from him. Little did I know that he would ask me out right away. We messaged each other briefly so I was impressed by his bold move! (I want to note that he asked me out to sushi. Yes, please!) It was raining the day we were meeting so I was running a little late and I recall that when I entered the restaurant, he was patiently waiting for me with some edamame appetizers. It was charming to see the thoughtfulness behind this gesture. I didn’t know this guy yet he already had thought ahead to have something started. As the date went on, it felt like two friends catching up on life. At the time, my heart wasn’t ready for a commitment but something about Andy’s energy felt comforting and genuine that it was hard to believe that someone like Andy existed.

On our first date, she really made me feel like catching up like old friends. She asked me 100 questions that ranged from top anime shows to stories of traveling adventures and future aspirations. I felt there was a soft kindness in her that really made me want to pursue her. I was definitely wow’d finding out she’s also into videogames, so I suggested she come over and play some VR games and meet my friends. Although I didn’t know much about her at first, I knew I only wanted to court her.
